The 475™ is a virtually identical to Solo's popular 425® but it has a diaphragm pump mechanism in the place of the 425's piston pump. In practical terms, this means that the 475 is better suited to abrasive materials, since the diaphragm completely isolates the spray material from the inner workings of the pump mechanism. The other major difference is that the diaphragm pump develops a lower maximum pressure (60 PSI vs 90 PSI for the 425).
